Sheep thieves A horrific incident in which a sheep owner was killed has taken place in the Gangapur village of Ranbennur Taluk in the district.

The murdered Kurigahi has been identified as Venkatesha Matur (50). Shepherds who kill sheep have been beaten and killed.

It rained in Haveri yesterday evening. The thieves rushed to the scene, knowing that there was no one to look after Kurien in the wake of the rains. The owner, Venkatesh, has come to stop the thief. Then a fatal attack by Venkatesh on a rod.

It is said that 40 sheep were stolen by thieves. A case has been registered at Ranebennur Rural Police Station.
